Brionne

Brionne: Brionne is commonly known as the 'City of Thieves', and is a den of corruption from the Governor down. Over half of the population are estimated to be involved in criminal activity of some form. Brionne squats on the north bank of the Brienne river, its ramshackle docks offering their dubious protection to any vessel. Pirates and smugglers consider Brionne a 'safe port', where only stepping out of line will draw any official harrassment. Bribery forms a major source of income for Brionne, and it is said that the Governor has built up his own fleet of smugglers, upon whose ill-gotten gains he has grown wealthy beyond the imagining of most of the populace of his town.
