Blood Angels

Warning: This definition may contain spoilers from any number of Games Workshop novels or source books.

Blood Angels: The Blood Angels are a slightly unusual Space Marine chapter, although not as disaproved of by the Inquisition as some Chapters. Their gene-seed replication techniques differ from other chapters slightly, and so mutations such as the Red Thirst and the Black Rage now afflict many with the gene-seed. These traits have also followed through to their Successor chapters. Their Primarch, Sanguinius, was defeated by Horus on his battle barge during the Horus Heresy, and the final minutes of their beloved Primarch is the sight most commonly reported to be seen by those in the throes of these afflictions.

None can deny the power of the Blood Angels chapter. They are excellent close-combat troops, favouring the ability to look the enemy in the eye as he dies. They do, however, mainly conform to the Codex laid out bu Robute Guilliman, with their own minor exceptions.

Primarch: Sanguinius

Chapter Badge: A winged drop of blood, representing their Primarch.
