Karak-Kadrin

Warning: This definition may contain spoilers from any number of Games Workshop novels or source books.

Karak-Kadrin: Karak-Kadrin (Kh.: "Peak Pass") is built amongst the World's Edge Mountains near to the uprising of the Stir. It guards one of the few passages through the World's Edge to the Reikwald. As well as forming a major trade route, this pass is also a favoured choice for Orc hordes and Chaos raiders as they pass from the Dark Lands into the Empire. Consequently, Karak-Kadrin has been beseiged more times than any other Dwarf stronghold - but has never fallen to its enemies.

Karak-Kadrin is home to the one of the largest conglomerations of Troll and Giantslayers in the Old World - a key factor in its impregnability. Many of the 'slayers who reside in Karak-Kadrin have pledged to keep the trade route clear - it is that which means no Troll can be found within 20 miles of Karak-Kadrin, and the Ice Giants which normally plague the World's Edge Mountains are confined to the highest and least travelled crevasses and peaks. The bones of Orcs and Goblins litter the slopes around the hold, frequently deep enough to hinder a traveller who strays from the road.
