Malvinas War: Short-lived war in 1981 between Argentina and the UK over the Malvinas islands. The UK surrendered not long after the opening of hostilities, as it was discovered that the Argentine military had bought their weapons from GenTech and G-Mek; a fact which had somehow escaped British Military intelligence.
Despite intial confidence of victory, the first landing suffered 98% casualties and Port Stanley fell shortly after. Explaining their defeat caused Prime Minister Ian Paisley to suffer and attack of apoplexy and drop dead on live TV, during an interview with Robin Day.
So much for Johnny Lydon's hit single "Who do you think you are kidding, Mr. Galtieri?"
